Dr. Al-Bakkal received her D.M.D. in
Dentistry from the University of Manitoba in 2004.
Her graduate studies in the Faculty of Dentistry at
the University of Manitoba culminated with her
Masters Degree in Oral Biology in 1998, with a
thesis exploring the role of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
in oral cancers. Further training was undertaken in
the area of geriatric dentistry during her time in
Manitoba. Her strong background in science began
from her undergraduate studies at Queen’ University
with a B.Sc. Hon. in Life Sciences in 1995 and a
B.Sc. in Biochemistry in 1994.
Dr. Al-Bakkal has been a committed
family dentist to her patients at Belmont Dental
Clinic since 2004. Professional and confident in all
aspects of general dentistry, she takes the
wellbeing and oral health of her patients to heart
and provides counsel about their overall health if
deemed appropriate. Dr. Al-Bakkal manages the
entirety of her patients needs within the clinic,
but promptly and accurately refers them to highly
skilled specialists if necessary. She obtains very
clear dental and medical histories from her patients
and performs comprehensive examinations to properly
diagnose and establish treatment plans to maintain
good dental health. Always mindful of various
financial and social situations, Dr. Al-Bakkal works
with her patients to find the best and most feasible
treatment plans available. Her attention to personal
detail, while maintaining strict patient
confidentiality, means that she is always well aware
of the health status of her patients and can
therefore meet their needs in a timely and efficient
manner.
Dr. Al-Bakkal routinely attends oral
health conferences, reads both dental and general
health journals and enrolls in numerous continuing
education courses to bring the latest technologies
and treatments to her practice, including the recent
addition of digital radiography to provide the
lowest possible radiation environment to both
patients and staff. She takes great pride in her
office’ adherence to the highest standards in both
technical skill and professional attitudes. Dr. Al-Bakkal
is kind, compassionate, intelligent, hardworking and
deeply devoted to her patients who, along with her
staff, appreciate and respect her ongoing expertise
and friendliness. Taking a keen interest in the
community of Belmont, she supports several charities
and children’ sport teams.
Dr. Al-Bakkal has been an active
member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the
Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO),
and Ontario Dental Associations (ODA) with good
standing since 2004.
Dr. Al-Bakkal is a proud mother and
wife. She enjoys cooking, jazz music, fitness,
reading and photography. She speaks English, Arabic,
Persian and French.
